Towns is in his third year at Glendale after spending the three previous seasons at Portland State University. Towns joined the staff at Portland State after serving as Defensive Assistant and Assistant Strength Coach for The University of Alabama. After graduating from the University of Washington in 1999, he was selected in the 2000 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers to play for one of the most successful professional football coaches ever, George Siefert and the late Sam Mills.  His four-year tenure with Carolina Panthers included playing in Super Bowl XXXVIII. While at the University of Washington, he was a four-year starter under Jim Lambright (Head Coach, 1995-1998) and Rick Neuheisel (Head Coach, 1999). Towns earned All Pac-10 honors and was voted team captain by his teammates for two consecutive years.
