Citrus College picked up its third-straight home victory with a 3-1 win over Glendale College (25-20, 25-17, 16-25, 25-20) Wednesday night.

The Owls improve to 6-18 on the year and 3-6 in Western State Conference-South action, while the Vaqueros fall to 9-13 overall, 4-5 in conference.

Faith Evaro led the Owls with 16 kills, while Desiree Reyes followed with 15 kills. Vanessa Marquez dished out 20 assists and Raegen Johnson added 16. Defensively, Mychaela Ortiz finished with 15 digs and Danielle Erlandson had four blocks on the night.

Citrus set the tone early with the first three points of the night and never surrendered the lead for the first two sets.

Glendale managed to prevent the sweep, taking the third set 25-16, but the Owls regrouped and came out determined to put the match away in the fourth.

Down 2-1 early in the set, Citrus scored six unanswered points to jump in front 7-2. Erlandson teamed up with Evaro and McKenna Cooper for back-to-back blocks in the scoring spree and a service ace from Johnson forced a Glendale timeout.

The Vaqueros tried to battle back and pulled within three, 23-20, but kills from Reyes and Cooper sealed the set win to hand the Owls the match victory.

Citrus College closes out its conference home schedule on Friday with a 6 p.m. match against the College of the Canyons. Seven sophomores will be honored before the match: Evaro, Ortiz, Marquez, Neesie Gonzalez, Miah Soriano, Reyes, and Jamie Murphy.
