Vaqueros improves to 2-0

The GCC Baseball team beat Mt. San Antonio College 6-3 Tuesday on the Mounties home field to improve 2-0. The Vaqueros, ranked No. 3 in the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association Pre-Season poll, led 6-0 in the seventh inning before Mt. SAC pushed across one in the seventh and two in the eighth to cut the lead in half. 
Starting pitcher Marco Quintanar pitched four strong innings to get the win, allowing just three hits and strking out two to hold the Mounties at bay. Jacob Gribbin hit a solo homer and had two RIB and Mondo Rodriguez had two hits and two RBI to pace the Vaqs offensively.
Glendale hosts Cerritos College at 2 pm Thursday at Stengel Field in its home opener. Cerritos is 1-1 this season and is ranked No. 16 in the CCCBCA Pre-Season poll.
