Vaqueros notch 20th win.

The GCC baseball team won two games Thursday, a rain halted game from Tuesday by the score of 16-8 and the regularly scheduled game at 9-5 over Citrus College, to improve to a WSC East leading mark of 6-1 and 20-5 overall. Glendale is also ranked No. 4 in the South in the most recent California Community College Baseball Coaches Association poll.
Glendale led 11-1 Tuesday at Citrus before rain halted the game in the bottom of the fourth inning before winning 16-8 when the game resumed Thursday at Glendale. In the second game, Citrus led 4-1 in the fourth inning before GCC rallied for three runs to tie it a four all and then put the game away by plating three runs in the sixth inning and two in the eighth top win their sixth game in a row.
Relief pitcher James Giambalvo earned his second win in his longest stint of the season with four innings pitched allowing just four hits, one run and striking out four. John Vergara started an allowed four runs on five hits and struck out six. Offensively, Bruno Teramoto paced the Vaqueros with three RBI, two hits including a two-run double. Matt Colomes, Christian Montes and Mondo Rodriguez also had hits each with Colomes adding a double.
Glendale faces Citrus again Saturday on the Owls home field at 1 pm.
