Troy Viola slams two homers to pace GCC to 16-5 win over Barstow

 
Sophomore Troy Viola slammed two homers among his three hist to pace a 16 hit Glendale attack as the Vaqueros won their ninth game in a row Tuesday April 3 with a 16-5 win a Barstow. GCC, ranked No. 7 in Southern California in the most recent CCCBCA poll, is now 9-0 in the WSC East and 20-9 overall.
 
Viola, who leads the team with eight homers, also scored three runs and Tom Tabak also had three hits including a triple and scored once. Jake Selco added a grand slam, one of five GCC homers on the day, and Brandon Lewis hot a solo shot and scored twice. Starting pitcher Chris Davidson earned his team high fifth win of the season by pitching six scoreless innings allowing four hits, striking out six and walking four.
 
Glendale hosts Barstow Thursday April 5 at 2:30 pm at Stengel Field.
