The Vaqs only had five hits Thursday but one of them was a big one as a solo home run by Andrew Tinoco helped give his team a cushion in their 3-0 win over Barstow April 5 at Stengel Field. The win was the 10th straight for GCC which leads the WSC East by two games and is 21-10 overall and is ranked No. 7 in Southern California.

 

The blast by Tinoco, his fifth of the year, was one of two extra base hist as Jacob Gribbin added his 10th double of the season. Mitchell Rathbun, Konner Piotto and Jake Selco all had singles for Glendale. Dexter Wilkerson earned the win to improve to 2-2 this year. He scattered three hits, walked two and struck out seven in six strong innings of work. Felix Rubi struck out three in his two innings and Kevin Holcomb preserved the shutout with a solid ninth inning.
