GCC pounded out 17 runs on 16 hits to complete a week long dismantling of Antelope Valley College Saturday April 14 with a 17-0 win. The Vaqs scored 38 runs and allowed just three from AV last week and improved to 13-1 in the WSC East and 24-10 overall and are ranked No. 5 in the CCCBCA rankings for Southern California.

 
Sophomore Jacob Gribbin continued his torrid hitting with three hits in four at bats including a homer and double and drove in three runs. He is hitting .490 in WSC East play at 25 for 51 and leads the conference in stolen bases with 19. Lucas Sakiay added three hits, scored three runs and homered as well as did Jake Selco who hit a three run blast. Mitchell Rathbun and Tom Tabak each had two hits. Starting pitcher Dexter Wilkerson earned the win by striking out eight over five innings in the shutout win.
 
Glendale takes on College of the Canyons in a three game set this week with the Vaqs leading the WSC East by two games over COC. GCC plays at COC Tuesday at 2:30 pm, hosts the Cougars Thursday at 2:30 pm at Stengel Field and plys at COC Saturday at 1 pm.
