The numbers are amazing and Chris Davidson's aren't too bad either. He allowed just four hits over seven innings Tuesday April 17 in Glendale's 9-0 win over the Cougars that gives GCC a three game lead in the WSC East with five games left to play in the regular season. The Vaqs improved to 14-1 in conference play and 25-10 overall and are ranked No. 5 in Southern California in the CCCBCA Southern California poll. Canyons is now 11-4 and 25-12 overall and is ranked No. 11 in the CCCBCA poll.

Behind Davidson and a pitching staff that has posted three straight shutouts and has not been scored upon in 29 straight innings over the past four games, all GCC victories. Offensively, they pounded out 11 hits Tuesday including five doubles led by Lucas Sakay who had three hits, slashed two doubles, scored twice and drove in one run. Troy Viola and Tom Tabak each had two hits and Jacob Gribben, Konner Piotto, Jake Selco and Grant Mona also had hits for GCC. Felix Rubi secured the shutout with a flawless two innings of work in relief of Davidson.

Glendale hosts Canyons Thursday at 2:30 pm and plays at Canyons Saturday at 1 pm.
