Glendale beats East L.A. 8-1 thanks to six run first inning

The numbers were certainly in the GCC Baseball Team's favor Friday against East Los Angeles College. They sent nine batters to the plate in the first inning, scored six runs and coasted to an 8-1 win to improve its record to 3-1 this season. 

Starting pitcher Dexter Wilkerson improved to 1-1 this season by hurling five shutout innings and striking out six and allowing just one hit. Fernando Rosales Paced the offense with two hits including a double and Casey Slattery and Matthew Shaugabay also had two hits with Shaugabay driving in two and Andrew Tinoco also driving in a pair.

Rain permitting, Glendale is scheduled to host L.A. Mission College at 3pm Wednesday at Stengel Field and play at Pasadena City College Saturday at 6pm at Brookside Park next to the Rose Bowl.
