Baseball beats Oxnard 8-2; improves to 8-7 this season

Freshman Christian Muro had three hits and drove in three runs to pace Glendale to an 8-2 win over Oxnard Friday to improve to 8-7 this season.

On a day when starting pitcher Gerardo Ramirez was staked to a 4-0 lead in the second inning and benefited from three Double plays from his defense, the Vaqueros completed a clean sweep over the Condors in the three games they Played against each other this season. Ramirez got the win over his five innings of work allowing eight hits, one run and striking out two.  On offense Trent MacKinney chipped in with two including a double and Andrew Mills also had two hits and a two bagger.

Glendale plays three games at home this week at Stengel Field starting Monday March 4 at 2 pm against L.A. Mission and then Western State Conference play starts Thursday March 7 against Barstow at 2 pm and against Antelope Valley Saturday March 9 At 1 pm.
