Glendale falls to Antelope Valley 6-5; now 10-8 this season

The Glendale College Baseball team finished a busy week of play with a 6-5 loss to Antelope Valley College in a Western State Conference East matchup Saturday March 9 at Stengel Field. GCC led four to 2-2 in the 6th inning but gave up four runs, two by started Jospeh Serna and two by reliever Kyle Nichol to cede the lead to the Marauders.

The Vaqs started off the week with a 10-7 win over L.A. Mission College and a 20-2 victory over Barstow Thursday in the WSC opener for both teams. In the loss Saturday, Trent MacKinney led GCC with three hits including a double and Michael Choi added two hits. Alex Mills had a triple and Casey Slattery, Brandon Lewis and Lucas Sakay all had doubles.

Glendale hits the road for three games next week at Canyons Tuesday March 12 at 2:30 pm, at Citrus Thursday March 14 at 2:30 and at Victor Valley Saturday March 15 at 1 pm.
