GCC Baseball rallies for three runs in ninth inning for 10-9 win over Citrus College April 16
Sam Grunberg's hit drove home Ethan Kearney to cap a three run ninth inning to give the GCC Baseball Team a 10-9 win over visiting Citrus College April 16 at Stengel Field. Glendale trailed 5-0 in the first inning but kept chipping away at the Citrus lead until they overcame the deficit in the late stages of the game. The win was the fourth straight for the Vaqs in the WSC South and they are now 11-5 in conference and 21-13 overall.
 
Jayden Perez led the 12-hit attack for the Vaqs with three hits including a home run and a double and had three RBI. Alex Dolan also had three hits including a double and three RBI and Grunberg had two hits including the game winning RBI. Starting pitcher Joe Estrada went five innings and was followed in relief by Daniel Vergara, Luis Fernandez, Liam Thatcher and Joseph Perez who got the win to improve to 2-0.
 
GCC continues WSC South play this week play at Citrus Thursday April 18 at 2:30 pm and hosting the Owls in the final game of the three-game series at 1 pm Saturday April 20 at Stengel Field.
