GCC Baseball's offense shines bright in 27-8 win over Canyons April 26 in regular season finale; finish the conference second in second place in the WSC South at 15-6 and are 25-14 overall.
In an offensive barrage that included scoring 27 runs, getting 30 hits and 14 extra base hits including nine home runs, the GCC Baseball team ended the 2024 regular season with a 27-8 win over College of the Canyons April 26. They also beat the Cougars 15-12 April 25 and swept the three-game series. The Vaqs finished the regular season in second place in the WSC South at 15-6 and are 25-14 overall. 
 
Jaden Rez helped pace the offense with five hits including two homers, a pair of doubles and four RBI and four runs scored. Gabe Juarez also homered twice and had four hits, four RBI and four runs scored. Sam Grunberg also homered twice and had four hits, four RBI and scored three runs. Jackson Benattar, Alex Laureano and Ethan Pena also homered and Pena also had three hits and four RBI. Geo Hernandez earned the pitching win in relief of starter Shane Aldrete and Kodie Hanawahine, Luis Hernandez and Matthew Bender also took the mound for Glendale.
 
The pairings for the Southern California Regional Playoffs will be released Sunday April 28 to see who Glendale is slated to play in the 2024 playoffs starting next week.
