Despite spotting West Los Angeles College a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, the Glendale College defense rallied to shut down the Wildcat offense until the 1:20 mark of the fourth quarter and fell 21-13 in the Pacific Conference opener for both teams Saturday at West l.A.
That defensive effort was paced by Cody Taniguchi with nine solo tackles and one assist and Teddy Gallagher with four solo tackles and six assists. Rashad Ysaguirre added eight tackles. Offensively, quarterback Guy Gibbs passed for 140 yards on 18 of 27 and ran for a score and Danny Haywood rushed for 76 yards on 18 carries. Randall Mincy caught seven passes for 43 yards.
Glendale has a bye this week and hosts San Ana College Saturday October 14 at 1 pm at Sartoris Field.
