Nathan Eldridge passes passes for four TD but GCC Falls 59-49
Freshman quarterback Nathan Eldridge passed for four touchdowns and accounted for 273 yards of total offense but Glendale College fell to Mt. San Jacinto College 59-49 in a non-conference game Saturday September 22 at Mt. San Jacinto.
Now 0-4, the Vaqs led three times in the first half but could not overcome the potent offense of the Eagles. GCC led 7-6 on a 45 yard run from Nate Degraffinreaidt and extended that lead to 14-12 on a 61 yard touchdown reception from Eldridge and to 21-20 on a 15 yard TD run from Adayus Robertson. Glendale had 503 yards against Mt. San Jac, now 0-4, with 286 yards in the air and 217 on the ground.
Eldridge was 10 of 25 for 204 yards and four scores and also rushed for 69 yards on six carries. Degraffinreaidt led all runners for the Vaqs with 11 rushes for 75 yards and Robertson carried eight times for 54 yards. Joey Lawrence was the leading receiver with four catches for 78 yards and two scores, Degraffinreaidt caught two balls for 79 yards and two scores and Christopher Lee caught two passes for 44 yards and two TD.
Glendale opens up American Division Metro League play Saturday Sept. 29 at West L.A. College at 1 pm.
