GCC Football can't rally in second half of 34-7 loss to Moorpark

Save for a 34 point deficit in the first half, the GCC Football team actually had a few bright spots in  the second half of Saturday's 34-7 loss at Moorpark College.

It started with a  kickoff return for a touchdown that was nullified by a holding penalty by Jalen Lawrence but the Vaqueros actually moved the ball with so0me success as quarterback Jorge Amaya passed for 112 yards on eight of 15 and was also the leading rusher with six carries for 25 yards. Gio Figueroa caught three balls for 18 yards and Chris Lee had the longest gain with a 39 yard snag on his only reception. 

Michael Sanford led the defensive effort with seven tackles, four solo and Christian Alvarez also had four solo tackles to go with two assists.

Glendale plays its final non-conference game Saturday Sept. 28 by hosting Mt. San Jacinto College at 1 pm at Sartoris Field.
