Saturday's 41-27 win over Compton College resembled old fashioned GCC football. The offense punished the visiting Tartars with 234 yards rushing led by the combination of Elijah Washington, 120 yards on 20 carries and Tre Fugate, 87 yards on 14 carries and three scores, on the way to a 41-27 win victory for its first win of the season.

Now 1-6 overall and 1-2 in Pacific Conference play, the Vaqs rallied from behind as they trailed 21-10 in the third quarter. But it was the GCC defense and Compton's own miscues that spelled the end for the visitors as the Vaqueros found its rhythm  on the defensive side led by Michael Stanford with 12 tackles, eight solo and the visitors own inability to stay away from penalties as they accrued 20 for 185 yards.

Glendale will now have some time to regroup as they have bye next on Oct, 26 and return to the field Nov. 2 at L.A. Valley at 6 pm.
