John Rome retires as GCC Head Football Coach; Link attached for job information
Head GCC Football Coach John Rome coached his final game at Sartoris Field on Nov. 9, 2019 after 12 years. He has been a loyal assistant coach under Jim Satroris from 1982-83 and under John Cicuto from 1990-94 and from 2001 until he took over as head coach in 2008, and steps down as only the third head football coach at GCC since 1972. He is No. 3 in all-time coaching wins at GCC and coached the Vaqs to the 2014 Patriotic Bowl. He will be remembered not only for his dedication to GCC and his players but as man of high standards and ethics.
