Michael Bonds: Vaquero Transfer Spotlight

It might have been a shock to some people to learn that quarterback Michael Bonds would attend GCC in 2017 after a standout senior year at St. Francis HS the season before. He accounted for 29 TDs, 25 in the air and 4 on the ground, and superbly ran the offense to a 9-2 mark while passing for over 2000 yards. His season at GCC was limited to just a few games due to a shoulder injury but it showed he was willing to do anything to make his dream of playing college football come true. He transferred to Miami of Ohio University in 2018 and after redshirting that year, was named the 2019 walk-on of the year. He has a 3.6 GPA and is majoring in sports leadership and management.
