Vince Van Horne comes from several​ years of coaching in Bakersfield at the high school and community college level. He earned his bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State and his master's degree from Still University. As a player, he was part of Central Section Championship Teams at Bakersfield High in 2005 and 2007 and played in the Arena Bowl All-Star Game in 2008, the Southern California Championship game for Bakersfield College in 2009 against Mt. SAC, and in the Go Daddy Bowl in 2010.
