Gully pours in 21 for 97-80 GCC win over L. A. Valley

Dominick Gully scored 21 points and helped pace the Glendale Men's Basketball team to a 97-80 win over L.A. Valley College Wednesday Jan. 24 at GCC. Glendale is now 2-2 in the Western State Conference Eastern Division and 9-12 overall.

Serigne Athj had a team high 24 points for the Vaqueros who jumped out 59-44 halftime lead by 64 percent from the field and making 13 of 22 three pointers for 69 percent. Derek Lockman nailed four three pointers for his 12 points and Chris Daniels and Steven Hubbell had 11 points each. Athj led them with nine boards and Jordan Matthews had eight and Matthews also had a game high nine assists.

WBB-Glendale continues WSC East play Sayrday at Antelope Valley College at 7 pm.

The GCC Women's Basketball Team 21 percent in the first half and 30 percent for the game in its 58-46 loss to L.A. Valley Jan. 24 at Glendale. The Lady Vaqs are now 3-1 in the WSC East and 13-7 overall.

Cheyenne Jankulovski had a team high 15 points for Glendale and eight rebounds. Sylvia Vartazarian added nine points and eight boards and Marlene Salazar added a team high 11 rebounds and had six points.

Glendale plays at Antelope Valley College Saturday at 5 pm.
