Serigne Athj leads All Western State Conference honors for GCC Men's Basketball

 

 

For the second straight year, sophomre Serigne Athj was named to the first team for the All Western State Conference East Division selections made by the conference coaches. Glendale finished 5-5 in WSC play and 12-15 overall. Dominick Gully was also named to the first team while Jordan Matthews and Chris Daniels were named honorable mention.

 

Athj led GCC in scoring in conference at 16.9 points per game while hauling in an average of seven rebounds while shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 47.1 from the three point line. Gully shot a team high 45.9 percent from the three point line while averaging 14.7 points per game.

 

Matthews led GCC in rebounding with an average of 7.4 per game to along with 10.6 points per game and shot 44.2 percent from the field. Daniels averaged 13.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
