Glendale beats Cuyamaca 80-65 in Chaffey Tournament
The Glendale Men's Basketball Team used a strong start and a solid finish to beat Cuyamaca College 80-65 Wednesday in the Cypress College Crossover Tournament. The Vaqs, now 3-6 overall this season, led 41-32 at halftime before extending their lead in the second half to get the win.
Sophomore Andre Banton led all scorers with 23 points as he was 9 of 13 from the field and hit three 3-pointers as GCC shot 48.3 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from the 3-point line where they hit 12 of 22 attempts. Sophomore point guard Steven Hubbell had an all-around solid game as he hit 4 of 6 three pointers and all five of his free throws for 19 points and led Glendale with seven rebounds and six assists. Isaac Etter added 16 points for GCC and Andre Zohrabian added seven rebounds, four offensive.
Glendale continues tourney play Friday facing the host team Cypress at 7 pm.
