Isaac Etter scores 31 in 90-75 Glendale win over Bakersfield

Isaac Etter scored 31 points to pace Glendale to the win over Bakersfield Wednesday night in the Verdugo Gym but it was the tale of two halves of play for the Vaqueros sophomore. He scored 22 points in the first half to pace GCC top a 52-30 lead and overcame shooting woes in the second stanza to help the home squad come away with a 90-75 win to improve to 7-11 this season.

Etter was deadly from the field in the first half on his eight of 14 from the field but struggled to finish 10 of 21 but it was his eight of eight from the free throw line that helped seal the win. Five Vaqs scored in double figures behind Etter as starters Steven Hubbell had 23 on eight of 11 from the field and Andre Banton had 11 with reserves Tre'j Floyd and Tevan Khudatyan added 11 and 10 points each. Etter led the Vaqs with nine rebounds and Khudatyan added eight as the home team outrebounded the visitors 35-32. But the game may have been won at the free throw line as GCC shot a season high 88 percent from the charity stripe, 47 percent from the field and 38 percent from the three point line.

Glendale starts Western State Conference play Saturday Jan. 19 with a 3 pm home contest against Barstow College in the Verdugo Gym.
