Four starters score in double figures as GCC MBB starts WSC play with 70-67 win over Santa Monica Jan. 10
Despite trailing by 24 points in the first half, the GCC Men's Basketball Team rallied to beat Santa Monica College 70-67 at home Jan. 10 in the opening game of WSC South play. The Vaqueros trailed 43-32 at halftime but rallied to outscore the Corsairs 38-24 in the final 20 minutes as the home team took its first lead with 5:25 left in the game and four tied scores to achieve the win.
 
Now 8-7 overall and 1-0 in conference play, GCC was led in scoring by Tyson Jackson with 18 points andfour assists. Elijah Groves added 16 points and 10 rebounds, Braxton Williams got the start and had a huge game with 15 rebounds, 11 off the offensive glass, as well as 13 points and Powell Mousaian had 12 points and seven rebounds as Glendale outrebounded the visitors 39-29 to help secure the win.
