Following the completion of the resurfacing of the Glendale College Tennis Courts last month, Norm Perry, Bob MacKay and Deo Sy gathered for a photo to commemorate the occasion.

Bob Mackay, middle, is the recently retired Men's Tennis Coach at GCC after 15 years and has spent over 25 years as the teach professional of the El Vaquero Racket Club. As the Men's Tennis Coach, Mackay has coached the Vaqs to several WSC Titles, coached two players, Dylan Kim in 2007 and Alex Sarkissian in 2013 to state championships and was named WSC Coach of the Year five times. He has also helped GCC raise thousands of dollars through player membership in the El Vaquero Racket Club.

Norm Perry, left, has been the owner/operator of NJP Sports in Glendale for decades and has been a vendor for Glendale College since the 1990's in several areas including netting and vinyl screens. His generous donation helped the resurfacing project reach the level needed to complete the project.

Deo Sy, right, has been the Women's Tennis Coach at GCC for the past four seasons with the team winning WSC titles for three straight years, 2014-16 with the 2015 reaching the Southern California Regional Team Finals. Coach Sy was named the WSC Coach of the Year in 2015-16 and was honored as the 2015 Wilson/ITA National Coach of the Year for Junior and Community Colleges.
