"In November of 2019, I took over as head coach for Adult Tennis Professional (ATP) Alexander Sarkissian. Sarkissian who has reached a career high of 158, had dropped to 504 in the world in November in 2019.  Over the short course of working together, Sarkissian would jump from 504 in the world to 402. He also reached the quarterfinals of the Morelos Open Challenger in February of 2020 making it the first time he has reached the quarterfinals since July of 2018."

In the fall of 2018, Glendale recorded the best individual results finishing runner up in the ITA preseason tournament. In the 2019 season, Glendale went on to win the Western State Conference title, with its last time winning conference in 2014. The men’s team went 8-0 in conference and 14-5 in regular season. The men’s tennis team also won the most conference awards in its history, with Glendale taking 4 singles players awarded 1st team, 2 singles players awarded 2nd team, 1 doubles team awarded 1st team, 2 doubles awarded 2nd team, Western State Conference player of the year Mark Peneff, and Western State Conference Coach of the year Chris Tissot. The team would qualify 3 singles and 1 doubles team to the regional and state tournament. In the regional/state tournament, Palomar finished in the top 16 for singles and top 16 for doubles and finished with the best results in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. For the final rankings, Palomar's Veronika Kremennaya would finish 12th in singles and Kremennaya/Nishijima would finish 18th in doubles.
