Sophomore Raymond Lopez took first place in a personal best time of 19:57 over the four-mile course Friday at the Oxnard Invitational to lead the GCC men to victory with 19 points and earn AOTW honors along with fellow sophomore runner Angie Salas. Paulo Vasquez was second in 20:32, Phillip Thomas was third in 21:00, Antonio Arroyo was fourth in 21:30 and Carlos Rivera was fifth in 21:32. All GCC runners posted personal; best times.

The women's team narrowly lost to Canyons 38-40 and were paced by the second place finish of Salas in 18:42 over the 3.1 mile course. Jenni Cazares was 6th in 19:00, Fiona Faulkner was 15th in 20:23, Nona Boyajyan was 18th in 20:55 and Genesis Siam-Alvarez was 19th in 20:59. Salas, Cazares and Siam-Alvarez ran to personal bests.
