Men and Women's Cross Country Teams finish second at Mt. SAC Oct. 14

The Vaqueros competed in the Mt. SAC Invitational this past Friday. The men took second place, scoring a total of 53 points, with Nicolas Diconti leading the way to a third place finish in a time of 21:21. He was followed by Jorge Ramirez (21:31) who took eighth place and Abdiel Quero (21:45) who took ninth place. Kevin Vasquez came across the finish line in 18th place with a time of 22:17, and Austin Kuromi was the final scoring runner who took 22nd place in a time of 22:31. Others to come across the finish line were Jeremiah Galloway (22:40), Brandon Rivas-Gramajo (24:11), and Alexsander Hernandez-Morales (25:09), taking 23rd, 55th, and 80th places, respectively.
The ladies also took second place, scoring a total of 81 points. They were led by Destiny Lopez who took eighth place in a time of 19:08. Samantha Medrano followed Destiny with an 11th place finish and a time of 19:38. Rounding out the five scoring runners were Aleksandra Martinez who came across in 15th place with a time of 20:00, Carina Langley who took 21st in a time of 20:41, and Norma Martinez who took 31st in a time of 21:40. Daniela Ponce-Barban ran another strong race with a 75th place finish in a time of 26:46. The Vaqueros will travel to Moorpark on Friday, Oct. 21 for the Western State Conference Championships.
