Softball shutdowns Oxnard in this week's doubleheader (5-0 & 16-7)
GCC softball coasts to a doubleheader win over Oxnard 5-0 and 16-7 in 8 innings.
In the first game Stephanie Garner pitched a complete game 5-hit shutout for the win. Garner, Amber Hernandez, Lilia Montenegro and Jessica Warren each had 2 hits.
In the second game, after Oxnard scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game at 7-7, Glendale exploded for 9 runs in the 8th to win 16-7. Jessica Warren went 7 innings for the win allowing only 2 earned runs.
Lilia Montenegro (3 singles) and Eve Ramirez (2 double & a single) each had 3 hits. Amber Hernandez doubled and tripled.
