A hot start by the GCC Women's Basketball team helped produce a 82-42 win over Santa Monica Wednesday to help the team improved to 10-6 this season. The Lady Vaqs shot almost 70 percent from the floor in the first half and led 54-28 at halftime.
In limited play, starting guard Cheyenne Jankulovski had a game high 16 points shooting eight of nine from the field. Sylvia Vartazarian added 14 points and a game high 11 rebounds and Savannah Fauria had 13 points and eight boards.
Glendale opens up Western State Conference play Saturday Jan. 13 at home in the Verdugo Gym vs Victor Valley College at 3 pm.
