GCC Women's Basketball improves to 4-1 with a pair of wins

The Glendale College Women's Basketball Team improved to 4-1 this season with a pair of wins Friday and Saturday, 62-43 over Chaffey College Nov. 16 and 71-21 over Oxnard College Nov. 17. Both games were at home in the Verdugo Gym.

Sophomore Cheyenne Jankulovski paced the Lady Vaqs to the win over Chaffey with 15 points on six of seven from the field. Gloria Bianchi added 13 points on six of six shooting and Hailey Wilson added 10 in just 19 minutes of play. Glendale led 31-24 at halftime and won on the strength of a 21 point four quarter.

The win over Oxnard was never in doubt as the Glendale defense never allowed the visitors to score in double figures in a quarter and led 33-10 at halftime. Sarah Perez led GCC with 13 points on six of 11 from the field and Marlene Salazar added 10 points on five of five field goals from the field.

Glendale plays next at Chaffey College Wednesday Nov. 21.
