The GCC Women's Basketball team ran its winning streak to six games in route to winning the Allen Hancock tournament December 6-8 in Santa Maria, CA. The Lady Vaqs are now 8-1 overall this season.
Glendale beat Santa Barbara 65-55 Thursday, beat Merritt 66-40 Friday, and Siskiyous 77-68 Saturday for the team title.
Sophomore Silvia Vartazarian was named the tournament MVP after scoring 39 points and grabbing 36 rebounds in three games. Cheyenne Jankulovski was also named to the All-Tournament team.
Glendale hosts Irvine Valley College Thursday, December 13, in the Verdugo Gym.
