Glendale improved to 3-0 in WSC East with 66-49 win over Antelope Valley

The GCC Women's Basketball Team improved to 3-0 in the WSC East and 15-4 overall with an 66-49 win over Antelope Valley Saturday in the Verdugo Gym. Glendale is ranked No. 20 in the state and No. 11 in Southern California.

Glendale held advantages in three of the four quarters played against the Maruaders including a 28-19 lead at halftime. The Lady Vaqs shot 49 percent from the field, 71 percent from the free throw line and 31 percent from the three point stripe.

Sylvia Vartazarian led the Lady Vaqs with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Cheyenne Jankulovski added 14 points, four boards and three assists as Glendale cruised to its fourth straight win.

GCC hits the road for a WSC East contest Wednesday January 30 at Victor Valley College and plays at home again Saturday Feb. 2 at 5 pm against L.A. Valley College.
