The numbers game is starting to work out for the GCC Women's Basketball Team. By beating Bakersfield 59-42 Saturday Feb. 5, Glendale not only rebounded from an early conference loss to the Renegades but won its seventh straight game and extended its lead in the Western State Conference Southern Division to 1 1/2 games with three left to play. The Lady Vaqs are 7-2 in conference and 16-5 overall.

Jesni Copper had a solid all-around game for the Lady Vaqs with a team high 18 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and two 3-pointers. Megan Delgado and Ani Boyajyan had 11 and 10 points each off the bench and Kayla Wrobel had nine rebounds and eight points for Glendale.

Glendale plays at Canyons Wednesday Feb. 9 ay 7 pm and host Antelope Valley Saturday Nov. 12 at 5 pm in the Verdugo Gym. GCC is ranked No. 19 in the state and No. 10 in Southern California.
