A loss is still a loss but the GCC Women's Soccer team played one of it's best games of the year at home Oct. 20 in a WSC match at Sartoris Field, falling 1-0 to visiting Santa Monica College.
Goalkeeper Ashleigh Messier had a standout game for the Lady Vaqs allowing just one goal in the first half and saving 10 shots. She even cam close to scoring herself, barely missing a score on a free kick when her shot hit the crossbar.
GCC continues WSC play this week play at Canyons Tuesday Oct. 24 at 4 pm and plays at Antelope Valley Friday Oct. 27 at 3 pm.
