Volleyball sweeps doubleheader

Glendale, CA - September 13, 2023

In a thrilling doubleheader tonight, the Glendale College Vaqueros women's volleyball team showed their dominance on the court by securing back-to-back victories against Chaffey and the LA City College Bears. The Vaqueros showcased their exceptional skills and teamwork as they triumphed in both matches, sweeping the Bears in three straight games after beating the Panthers from Chaffey College in five games. 

The Vaqueros exhibited their impressive offensive and defensive prowess throughout the match. Their exceptional passing and well-coordinated attacks left the Bears struggling to keep up. The first set ended with a convincing 25-10 victory for Glendale College. The second set continued in a similar fashion, with the Vaqueros maintaining their momentum and winning 25-11 and the third set finishing 25-12.

 

The doubleheader victories showcased the Glendale College Vaqueros' exceptional teamwork, skill, and determination to succeed. Coach Yvette Ybarra expressed her pride in the team's performance, saying, " I'm happy for the players, it is a great confidence builder for them as we continue on and prepare for more non-conference matches in the next few weeks.''

With these two impressive wins, the Glendale College women's volleyball team improves their season record to 3-5. They will be looking to carry this momentum into their upcoming matches this weekend in the LA Mission Tournament Friday and Saturday.

The Glendale College community and fans are undoubtedly excited about the team's performance and eagerly anticipate more thrilling victories in the weeks to come. The Vaqueros have once again proven that they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of college women's volleyball.

Jayden Deadaux led the team with six kills and Caitylyn Mendoza had 12 assists.
