The Glendale College men's and women's cross country teams continue to dominate the competition with separate  team wins at the WSC Preview Meet Friday Sept. 28 hosted by Citrus College.
 
The men, ranked No. 4 in the state and Southern California,  overwhelmed the competition by scoring 35 points with four runner scoring in the top 10 and two non-scoring runners finish 13th and 14th. Pacing the GCC men was the second place finish of freshman Spencer Geck, who finished third over all over the four mile course in 22:13.4. Alberto Serrano was fourth in 22:18.6, Akol Malong was eighth in 22:37.7, Antonio Arroyo was ninth in 22:36. 6 and Marcelo Ramirez was 11th in 22:38.4. Kevin Keller and Danny Vasquez finished 13th and 14th overall.
 
For the top ranked women in the state and Southern California, Noemi Apreza finished seventh over the 5k course in 20:17.4, three spots behind top finisher Jennifer Perez-Cazarez in 19:47.1. The Lad Vaqs swept finishers nine through 12 to show how tightly they ran to victory. Genesis Sian-Alvarez finished ninth in 20:29.2, Jazmin Negro was 10th in 20:42.8, Daisy Romero was 11th in 20:46.0 and Pheobe Forsyth was 12th as a non scorer.
 
The Glendale men and women have a bye this week and compete next in the Highlander Invitational October 13th at U.C. Riverside.
