Melissa Ramos, MS, ATC, returns home to Glendale Community College as the newest addition to the Athletic Training Staff. Melissa began her career as a student intern at GCC with Jose and Claudia, graduating with her A.S. in Kinesiology in 2016. She then transferred to California State University, Los Angeles, where she obtained her B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Exercise in 2019. Furthering her education, Melissa was then accepted into the Master of Science Athletic Training program at California Baptist University in Riverside, CA. There she would complete her Master of Science degree in Athletic Training, graduating in Spring 2021 and obtaining her Board of Certification credentials in Athletic Training. Her education and clinical experiences obtained thus far have prepared Melissa to transition into practice with professionalism, confidence, and competence in her skillset. These attributes, along with whole patient care, evidence-based practice and interprofessional communication are what allow her to excel in this profession. As a former competitive cheerleader, Melissa also enjoys working cheer camps and cheer competitions, providing her services as a healthcare professional. Melissa is the mother to one young loving boy, James, and their dog, Nala, who is a Pitbull-Husky mix.
