
Women's Volleyball Picks Up Win in Five Set Thriller at Glendale
GLENDALE, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's volleyball picked up a non-conference victory on the road after defeating Glendale College in a five set thriller. | BOX SCORE
This marked the first time the Bulldogs (9-1) have been taken to more than four sets on the season with eight of their nine previously played contests being sweeps. Final set scores on the day were 19-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, and 15-13.
The hosting Vaqueros (3-8) capitalized on Hancock's offensive struggles after taking the two sets where AHC hit .000. The Bulldogs managed to bounce back in the three remaining sets and ended the evening with a .103 mark as a team.
Kaitlyn Vongvone and Shanyce Valadez paced the offense with 19 and 17 assists, respectively, while running the 6-2 setup. Vongvone was also red-hot from the service line after recording six of the team's 14 total aces.
Emma Olney was tops for the program with 15 kills, followed by Marina Agueda and Jocelyn Olmstead who added nine apiece and eight from Gifti Tefera. Olmstead and Myranda Miranda provided a defensive presence at the net, combining for four block assists. Morgan Doss racked up a team-high mark of 19 digs in the libero uniform to go along with 16 from Valadez.
The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Friday, October 4th, at LA Mission College for the conference opener.
