
Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Baseball team secured a series win over Glendale Community College, taking two out of three games. The Mounties earned a 10-6 home victory on Thursday, January 30, and closed the series with a dominant 7-1 win on Saturday, February 1. Their only setback came in an 11-5 road loss on Friday, January 31. With this performance, Mt. SAC improves to 4-1, while Glendale falls to 3-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1: Mt. SAC 10, Glendale 6
Glendale jumped ahead early, scoring four runs in the first two innings, but the Mounties responded in the third. Bryan Bradshaw's two-RBI triple, a sacrifice fly from Nick Mejia, and Jackson Giacone's two-RBI single gave Mt. SAC a 5-4 lead. Ty Thomas added two more runs in the fourth, and Landon White sealed the win with a three-run homer. Starting pitcher Sam Silversmith earned the victory, pitching five innings with six strikeouts. Relievers Matt Viveros, Jaden Mackowiak, and closer Ryan Martinez shut down Glendale's offense in the final innings.
Game 2: Glendale 11, Mt. SAC 5
Mt. SAC struck first with an RBI triple from Thomas and an RBI single from Diego Ortiz for a 2-0 lead in the first. Despite a home run from Tyler Stull and RBIs from Giacone and Cole Nachreiner, the Mounties couldn't hold off Glendale's late surge. The Vaqueros exploded for 10 runs in the seventh and eighth innings, led by Max Price's go-ahead three-run homer and a three-RBI double from James Harrington. Starter Izeah Muniz pitched six strong innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out seven, but Jeremiah Sibrian took the loss in relief.
Game 3: Mt. SAC 7, Glendale 1
The Mounties dominated the series finale, limiting Glendale to one run. The Vaqueros struck first with a first-inning RBI single from David Lozano, but Mt. SAC quickly responded with an RBI single from Giacone to tie it up. Additional hits from White, Cameron Dejournett, Noah Rodriguez, Thomas, and Bradshaw secured the win. Starting pitcher Hudson Castillo was stellar, allowing no earned runs over 5.2 innings while striking out two.

The Mounties will travel to face Cypress College (3-1) on Tuesday, February 4, at 1:30 PM.
