Mt. SAC Men’s Tennis Falls to Glendale in Season Opener, 9-0

Glendale, Calif – In their season opener, the Mt. SAC Men's Tennis Team struggled to find their rhythm, falling 9-0 to Glendale Community College on Friday, January 31.

In singles, Luke Jensen put up a good fight, but was defeated by Hayden Pike, 7-5, 6-4 while Jarred Millan was swiftly taken down by Adam Ridaoui 6-0, 6-1. The Vaqueros David Tinjero shutout Zayniddin Khusainov 6-0, 6-0, and Eduardo Oganesian beat Micah Welch 6-1, 6-1. Jack Swisher was defeated by Sam Yang with scores of 6-0 and 6-3, and finally, Aidan Lopez was blanked by Van Stepanion with sets of 6-0, 6-0.

As for doubles, Jensen and Swisher were bested by Tinjero and Ridaoui, 8-2. Khusainov and Millan struggled against Ian Nicodemus and Oganesian, falling 8-0. Lopez and Welch fought hard but were defeated 8-4 by Pike and George Lazenby.

The Mounties will look to bounce back as they host Riverside City College on Tuesday, February 4, at 2:00 PM.
