GCC Baseball Pre Season All-Americans

Collegiate Baseball Newspaper has announced its 2019 Pre Season All-American selections with three GCC Baseball players making the list for players representing community colleges throughout California.

Outfielder Tom Tabak and pitchers Kevin Holcomb and Dexter Wilkerson  were instrumental for the Vaqueros finishing 30-15 and winning the Western State Conference Title, its sixth in seven seasons and advancing to the second round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

Tom Tabak

Tabak led the Vaqs in hitting in 2018 as a freshman with a .344 average and also posted team highs in runs with 43, 62 hits and three triples. He also had nine doubles, 27 RBI and one homer while walking 15 times and striking out just 27 times in 180 plate appearances. He was a first team All-WSC East selection.

Kevin Holcomb

A leader on the GCC pitching staff last year, Holcomb posted a 4-1 record with a 4.62 ERA in 39 innings as a starter and relief pitcher. He struck out 37, walked just 20 batters and allowed 38 hits and 25 runs. He was a second team All-WSC East selection as a relief pitcher.

Dexter Wilkerson

A second team All-WSC East selection as a starting pitcher in 2018, Wilkerson posted a 3-4 record on the mound with a 3.16 ERA in 57 innings. He struck out 57 batters, allowed just 17 walks and allowed 55 hits and 21 runs.
