Nathan Eldridge paces GCC to 40-14 win over Compton College

Glendale College snapped a six game losing streak on the road with a 40-14 win over Compton College Saturday Oct. 13. The win improves GCC's record to 1-6 and 1-2 in Metro League play while the Tartars are 0-6 and 0-2.

The Vaqs built a 20-0 lead in the first half after a 10 yard TD pass from Eldridge to Job McGinty and touchdown runs of one and two yards each by quarterback Nathan Eldridge. Quinn Sheaffer and Daniel Torres each scored on runs of 10 yards and Eldridge closed out the scoring with a 53 yard touchdown pass to Jalen Lawrence.
 
Eldridge accounted for 126 yards of total offense with 95 yards passing on six of 12 and two scores and he also rushed for two scored and 31 yards on 13 carries. Torres led the ground game with 77 yards on eight carries and one touchdown and Lawrence caught three passes for 67 yards and one score.
 
Chris Wood had a solid night punting with five boots for 160 yards for a 26.0 average and Sean Aguilar led the defensive effort with six tackles and Angel Santana added five.   
 
Glendale has a bye this week and hosts L.A. Valley College Oct. 27 at 1 pm at Sartoris Field.
