Vaqueros' have school record eight interceptions to record impressive win

Paced by a defensive effort that throttled the L.A. Southwest offense, nine total turnovers helped pace the GCC Football team to a 47-20 win over the visiting Cougars Saturday in the season ending game at Sartoris Field.
 
The Vaqueros raced out to a 34-0 halftime lead thanks to five interceptions and a fumble recovery and never looked back as the mistakes piled up for LASW and Glendale was running on all cylinders. Christian Alvarez had two picks on the day which included six others by Anthony Parhms, Job McGinty, Diontai Jenkins, Khaled Wahezi, Justin Fernandez and Pablo Guardado all recorded interceptions. 
 
Other highlights had Jalen Lawrence returning a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown giving him two on the day including a 29-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Nathan Eldridge. Eldridge was nine of 15 on the day for 140 yards and two scores. Adayus Robertson rushed for two scores and ran for 81 yards on 11 carries. Kicker Chris Wood had another solid game as he punted six times for 250 yards and made three extra points.
 
Glendale finished the season 3-3 in the Metro League and 3-7 overall and won three of its final four games.
