Vaqueros Dominate LA Southwest in 49–9 Win

The Glendale College Vaqueros rolled to a decisive 49–9 home victory over LA Southwest on September 13. Glendale's offense was unstoppable, racking up 556 total yards with a balanced attack through both the air and on the ground.

Quarterback Christian Breazeale had a stellar day, completing 18 of 23 passes for 291 yards and 4 touchdowns, connecting repeatedly with Zamondre Merriweather, who hauled in 7 catches for 147 yards and all 4 receiving touchdowns. Running backs Alonzo Fuentes-Gutierrez and Damien Navarro added key scores on the ground, with Fuentes-Gutierrez running for 2 touchdowns and Navarro punching in a 1-yard touchdown run. Wideout Luke Hyanand Timothy Johnson also contributed big gains, helping Glendale move the chains consistently.

The Vaqueros' defense controlled the game, forcing turnovers and keeping LA Southwest out of rhythm. Drew Cobos led the defensive charge with 6 total tackles, while the defensive line and linebackers limited LA Southwest to just 9 points, holding them to short drives throughout the game.

Special teams were solid as well, with Alejandro Pereyra making all 6 extra-point attempts and kicker Alborz Pharokhipanah adding a conversion, helping Glendale convert all scoring opportunities. Overall, Glendale showed balance, explosiveness, and strong team execution in all three phases of the game, improving to 3–1 on the season.
