Glendale comeback complete with 70-69 OT win over Saddleback

As far as comeback wins go, Glendale's 70-69 overtime win over Saddleback College ranks as one of the best ever for the Vaqueros. First off they were facing a Gaucho team that was one of the best and biggest units in Southern California with three players over 6' 10''.

But the visitors could not put the home squad away as Glendale trailed just 28-21 at the half despite shooting just 18 percent from the field and 33 percent from the three point line. That lead was quickly erased in the second half as the Vaqs quickly tied the game and even took the lead on a barrage of three pointers by Andre Banton and Isaac Etter who each had 18 points with Etter hitting four three point bombs and Banton nailing three from the field. Steven Hubbell added 16 points and four assists and Eric Ting added 12 including a three pointer with just seconds on the clock in overtime to give GCC the win. Tre'j Floyd had a team high 10 boards for GCC.

Saddleback was led by J.J Overton with 29 points and Shawn Stith had 21 and 10 rebounds. Glendale is now 5-9 on the season and Saddleback falls to 8-7.

The Vaqs play next Jan. 4-5 in a Bakersfield College crossover against Bakersfield Jan. 4 at 4 pm and against Santa Monica Jan. 5 at 5 pm.
