Men and Women's Cross Country Teams compete in Southern California Preview Meet Sept. 23

      The Vaqueros competed at the Southern California Regional Championship Preview race this past Friday. The men took 4th place, scoring a total of 127 points, with Julius Largaespada leading the way to a 7th place finish in a time of 20:51. Nicolas Diconti followed with an 8th place finish in a time of 20:56. Rounding out the top five scoring runners were Abdiel Quero (21:43) who took 35th, Jorge Ramirez (21:56) who took 44th, and Kevin Vasquez (22:00), who finished in 47th place. Others to cross the finish line were Austin Kuromi (22:18), Jeremiah Galloway (23:23), Brandon Rivas-Gramajo (24:15), and Alexsander Hernandez-Morales (24:51) who took 53rd, 104th, 144th, and 172nd place, respectively.

      The women also finished in 4th place, scoring a total of 113 points, with Aleksandra Martinez coming in 21st place in a time of 20:19. Samantha Medrano took 23rd in a time of 20:25, with Carina Langley (20:51), Norma Martinez (21:39), and Destiny Lopez (21:52) coming in 32nd, 48th, and 50th place, respectively to round out the five scoring runners. Also making her season debut was Daniela Ponce-Barban who took 124th place in a time of 28:16. The team will travel to L.A. Pierce college on Friday, Sept. 30 for the Western State Conference Preview race..
