Women victorious in 5-1 win over Oxnard

Glendale continues its dominance in a 5-1 victory against Oxnard. The Lady Vaqs winning streak now is at 2 and the team is surging through the early month of October with a total of 11 goals. Tonight was nothing different from the Lady Vaqs, they began the game with 2 goals from Haley Tsarofski at the 2nd and 4th minute of the game. This was a comfortable lead until Oxnard scored a goal at the 26th minute that cut the lead to just one. Glendale did not lose their composure as they continued to create various opportunities for themselves. They continued the offensive pressure and finally the Lady Vaqs caught a break when the Lady Vaqs were awarded  a penalty kick. Adriana ​Sarukhanyan was the one to take it and capitalized when it counted at the  end of the period. ​At the start of the second half, Glendale began to control the aspect of game, it  all started when both Amber Flores had a break away and shot only to hit the crossbar. Luckily it was quickly deflected and accidentally hit into the goal by one of the oxnard defenders. This strengthened the teams lead to 1-4, The team wasn't finished just yet. One last goal from Adriana  Sarukhanyan​ would seal the deal for the Lady Vaqs as the game was sealed. A key player that  created many of the scoring opportunities and chances was Freshman Sarina Bedikian. "Our offensive pressure started off really strong, that gave us the confidence to feed balls to our offense and finish them [Oxnard] early on and stay ahead of the game" Said Bedikian when asked about the teams offensive pressure early on in the game. The Lady Vaqs will travel to Pierce College on Tuesday, October, 9th at 4:00 P.M.
