Women's Beach Volleyball comes away victorious is first intercollegiate matches

After playing several years as a club team, the GCC Women's Beach Volleyball made its debut as an intercollegiate squad, falling 5-0 to Desert in its first Match Feb. 22 at Civic Center Park and beating Victor Valley 3-2 in the second match in the best two out of three matches.

In the win over Victor Valley, the No. 2 pair of Claire Codding and Nicole Oberhammer won at 21-17, 9-21 and 15-10, the No. 4 pair of Seda Kazaryan and Romina Torokian won at 21-13 and 21-8 and the No. 5 team of Antionette Ba-innimayeh and E'mon Davis-Dolly won by default when Victor Valley was unable to field a team.

Glendale plays again Wednesday Feb. 27 at Saddleback at 1 pm.
